There's a bit of a Gallic flavour to the show this week, as I highlight the drone, noir pop of French trio The Limananas, an album full of VU inspired drving rhythms with a pinch of Serge Gainsbourg's outlaw romanticism. Released on the fantastic Hozac label (also home to OFPM faves Radar Eyes) the band have a sound that feels almost mythical, like some undiscovered acetate from 1967 unearthed and re-mastered by Lou Reed's European Son. Sticking with the euro alt scene listen out for Russian Manc enthusiasts Motorama, sounding very much like Interpol's wet dream - blending Joy Division, The Wake & early goth into a sleek, cool eastern landscape. Also included in this week's show is new material by talented young elfin songstress Marika Hackman, a peek inside the eccentric world of Ergo Phizmiz plus amazing soundtracks from the ever reliable Mogwai and the sadly missed Trish Keenan and Broadcast.
